Base Score

Each VPN starts with a base score calculated from its privacy tier (1-4) and quality tier (1-4). Higher tiers indicate better privacy policies, audit history, and overall service quality.

Purpose Matching

Based on your selected use cases, we add points for relevant features:

• Privacy: Bonus for multi-hop support
• Bypass Filtering: Bonus for obfuscation technology
• Streaming: Bonus for Netflix and BBC iPlayer support
• Torrenting: Bonus for port forwarding
• Corporate: Bonus for top-tier privacy and quality

Region Coverage

VPNs with servers in your selected region receive a bonus. Those without coverage in your region receive a penalty.

Budget Fit

We match your budget preference with each VPN's price tier. Closer matches receive higher scores.

Final Ranking

All scores are calculated client-side in your browser. We display the top 3 matches sorted by total score.
