How This Works
When you add a torrent to your client, it contacts the tracker to announce itself and find peers. This test uses a custom tracker that:
- Generates a unique magnet link with our tracker URL
- When your torrent client announces, we log the IP address it uses
- We compare this IP to your browser's IP to check for leaks
Why This Matters
If your VPN isn't properly configured, your real IP could be exposed to everyone in the torrent swarm. This test helps you verify that your torrent traffic is actually going through your VPN, not leaking your real IP address to peers and trackers.
